Taylor: Lawsuit Abuse Reform Could Lower Costs for Taxpayers

A recent column in the Delaware County Daily Times outlines how Pennsylvania’s exploitive, plaintiff friendly legal environment is contributing to rising legal system costs in the Commonwealth – impacting small businesses and taxpayers. The piece, written by PA Manufacturers Association President and CEO David Taylor, notes that the predatory practices often target small businesses that don’t have the financial resources to pay high legal fees to defend against meritless cases.

“These suits are never about justice; they’re about how much bad-faith actors can get away with and how much they can take away from law-abiding citizens,” Taylor wrote.

Taylor goes on to urge for passage of commonsense reforms championed by PCCJR that would update our state’s legal system to bring greater transparency, balance and stability which will ultimately help to lower overall costs.
