PCCJR to Host CLE Class on Legal Advertising

You’re invited to attend an upcoming CLE course focusing on the ethical implications and the pervasive impacts of legal advertising on civil litigation. Attendees of this virtual event are eligible to obtain 1.5 hours of substantive and 0.5 hours of ethics CLE credits.

Each year in Pennsylvania millions of dollars are spent on billboards, television, radio and electronic ads touting the ability to “get rich” through litigation. These ads plant false and preconceived notions of “justice” in the minds of claimants and prospective jurors, which they take into the courtroom. This event will feature a panel discussion on the effects of this type of advertising on the state’s civil justice system as well as ideas on what can be done to counter this onslaught of advertising. The distinguished panel will include Lisa Bellino Esq., VP, Claims Judicial & Legislative Affairs at Zurich North America; Megan Martin, Esq., Vice President and General Counsel at the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry; and Rachelle Mortimer, Esq., Director of Legislative Affairs at the U.S. Chamber Institute for Legal Reform.

This virtual event will take place on Thursday, August 15 from 10 a.m. to noon. To register, visit the PCCJR website.
